Thanksgiving Scrapworthy Moment #1

I plan my life around scrapable moments. It's probably not the best way to live, but every day is filled with moments that have that memorable potential. We just aren't used to noticing them. But, holidays are different; we see the ways families interact, love, and celebrate. Children's faces are oh so expressive, giving us all the more reason to snap photos. This Thanksgiving was no exception.

Silas, my six-year-old cousin eagerly volunteered to say the meal's blessing. Initially, most of the family was concerned about the child delivering an appropriate prayer, yet he was insistant. As we all bowed our heads and listened to the child say grace over one of the most important family gatherings of the year, I was amazed by his honesty and spirituality. He said how thankful he was for all the people in his life, his blessings, family, and the meal we would soon enjoy. It was a short prayer, said barely above a whisper, yet it presented such a wonderful feeling. When he finished, the faces of doubtful relatives were all tear stained. His sweet, simple, yet touching prayer set the tone for the entire meal. I will forever be in awe of the abilities of children. . .

May we never be too involved in our own worries to witness these simple moments in life. They matter most. . .
