Creative Summer

Even though I've been home for almost a month, today feels like the first day of summer.  When I got up this morning, there were already kids riding their bikes and scooters down the street.  The wind was pushing them along and I just peered out my window for a moment remembering the carefree days that they exist in.

Right now, it doesn't look like summer outside.  It's dark adn grey, and I can see traces of rain following with the mini cyclones of the dust that keep making their way down the adjacent street.  It's been an interesting way to start June, to start summer.

Despite the weather, I know that even though the summer is just beginning, it's about to increase its speed and before I know it, I'll be back in Cedar City.  I haven't set a lot of summer goals this year, because I usually don't follow through with them.  The only thing I want to work on is to "do something creative every day."  It's going to be a challenge, but such a braod goal allows me to both scrapbook and write without feeling guilty about not doing the other.  So far, I've done more scrapbooking than writing, but I'm about ready to switch gears.

So, here's to this summer and another 67 days of freedom before it's back to RA training and the chaos my last few semesters of college.
