My Disdain for Fast Food.

I really don't like fast food, but it's not the grease or the billion calorie meals that I hate.  It's the 14 year old employees.  Why places would hire people with as few brain cells as these teens have, is beyond me.

The other day, my mom and I were in a hurry so we stopped at Sonic for lunch.  We both ordered combos, that were advertised on the menu for a set price, yet we were charged more than twice the price for them.  My mom is too timid to complain, and after we'd waited 10 minutes at the window, she paid the full price.  We were already mad, when we pulled up and found that everything we'd ordered was ice-cold.  She was ready to just throw stuff away, but I decided that I was going to go back in and get our money back.  The posse of 14-year-olds working had no idea what to do (the one who helped us quickly found an excuse to go to the back-- I KNOW he knew that he served us cold food).  The oldest employee that I could see, who was a girl about 17, finally just got me my money back and I left.

I want to call and complain about the service we received, but I'd probably only get another one of the teenage employees, and frankly, they don't care.  I can't imagine giving less than 112% on a job, even if I hated it, but apparently this isn't the attitude of most people.  It's rude, but I hope they all flunk out of high school and have to work jobs like that for the rest of their lives.
