annual pass
when i was little, i always thought that owning a disneyland annual pass meant that you had really made it in life. i envisioned myself as an established adult vacationing to my favorite place whenever i wanted. i saw it as a marker of success and adulthood.
today i bought an annual pass. now i see this ownership as a marker of, 'well, the two trips that i have planned to disneyland in the coming months already would be more money than having an ap.' still, i'm really excited that i own it. even though i can't and i won't, there's always that possibility that i can run away to disneyland at any time in the next year. that, in itself, is comforting.
i'm so excited that i can finally say 'yes!' when every cashier, server, and cast member asks if i'm an annual pass holder. parking is now free (even though we generally fly), 15% off all restaurants, 20% in most retail stores, and a discount on disneyland hotel rates. it's going to be more than worth it. and, there's always that promise of a third trip down the line that will make the ap more than worth the dent it just made in my savings.
we leave in 25 days!!!! aaaah!!!!
